Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 2026

At AstroDate, we believe dating should feel personal.

That doesn't mean your personal information should feel public.

This Privacy Policy explains what information AstroDate collects, why we use it, how we protect it, when we may share it, and the choices available to you.

This Policy applies to the AstroDate website, mobile application and related services operated by AstroDate ("AstroDate", "we", "us", "our"), founded by Ritik.

1. The Short Version

You give us information so we can help you discover people, calculate compatibility, operate your account, provide astrology-related features and keep AstroDate safer.

We don't need your information simply because we can collect it.

If we don't need it for a legitimate purpose, we don't want it.

We also don't sell your personal data as a product.

  • date of birth;
  • exact or approximate birth time;
  • birthplace;

This information may be used to calculate astrology-related results and compatibility features.

Your birth details are not required merely because the universe knows them. They are used when you choose features that depend on them.

3. Verification Information

If you use our identity or selfie-verification feature, we may collect information such as:

  • verification photographs;
  • selfies;
  • images or documents submitted for verification;
  • verification results;
  • information generated during the verification process.

Where verification is performed using a third-party provider, that provider may process information according to its own privacy policy and contractual arrangements with us.

Verification information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for verification, fraud prevention, safety, dispute resolution, security and legal compliance, subject to applicable law.

When you use AstroDate, certain technical information may be collected automatically.

This can include:

  • IP address;

  • application version;
  • device identifiers;
  • log information;
  • crash information;
  • approximate location derived from technical information, where applicable;

  • pages, screens and features accessed;
  • dates and times of activity.

This information helps us keep AstroDate secure, understand how the Platform is used and improve reliability.

6. Location Information

Some features may require location information.

For example, location may help with:

  • discovering people in relevant areas;
  • showing location-related profile information;
  • improving recommendations;
  • preventing suspicious activity.

Where a feature requires device-level location permission, you can control that permission through your device settings.

We do not need your exact location simply to know that you exist.

8. Compatibility & Personalisation

AstroDate may use information you provide to create compatibility insights and personalized recommendations.

This can include combinations of:

  • profile information;
  • stated preferences;
  • interactions;
  • astrology information;
  • numerology information;
  • relationship preferences.

AstroDate may use automated systems to organize, filter, recommend or rank profiles and content.

These systems are designed to improve discovery and are not intended to make legally significant decisions about you.

AstroDate does not claim that an algorithm can determine who your soulmate is.

We build tools for discovery, not destiny certificates.

9. Astrology Data

AstroDate may transform birth information into astrology-related outputs such as:

  • zodiac information;
  • charts;
  • compatibility indicators;
  • numerology results;
  • relationship-oriented insights;
  • other astrology calculations.

These outputs may be visible to you and, depending on the feature and your profile settings, certain information may be visible to other users.

You should therefore avoid entering information that you do not want processed for the relevant feature.

10. Who Can See Your Information?

Your profile may be visible to other AstroDate users according to:

  • your profile settings;
  • visibility settings;
  • matching features;
  • the functionality you choose to use.

Some information is intended to be public or semi-public within the AstroDate community, such as profile photographs, biography, interests or other information you choose to display.

Private information such as account credentials should not be publicly displayed.

Before posting something on your dating profile, ask yourself: "Would I be comfortable with another person seeing this?" If the answer is no, don't post it.

11. When We Share Information

We may share personal information with service providers and other parties where reasonably necessary for operating AstroDate.

These may include providers supporting:

  • hosting and cloud infrastructure;
  • authentication;

  • security;
  • identity verification;
  • customer support;
  • technical infrastructure;
  • astrology-related functionality.

We may also disclose information:

  • when required by applicable law;
  • in response to lawful government or regulatory requests;
  • to protect users or the public;
  • to investigate fraud or abuse;
  • to enforce our Terms;
  • to protect AstroDate's rights and property;
  • as part of a merger, acquisition, restructuring or sale of relevant business assets, subject to applicable law.

We do not sell your personal data merely because it has commercial value.

12. Your Choices & Control

Depending on applicable law and the nature of the information, you may have rights relating to your personal data.

These may include rights to:

  • access information;
  • request correction;
  • request deletion;
  • withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing;
  • request information about processing;
  • raise grievances;
  • manage certain communication preferences.

Where consent is used as the basis for processing, we aim to make withdrawal reasonably comparable in ease to giving consent, as required by applicable law.

Some information may need to be retained despite a deletion request where retention is required or permitted by law, necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or other legitimate/legal purposes.

13. Deleting Your Account

You may request deletion of your AstroDate account through the available account controls or by contacting us.

Account deletion may result in:

  • removal of your active profile;
  • loss of matches;
  • loss of conversations;
  • loss of purchased or unused benefits where applicable;
  • loss of access to account history.

Certain information may remain for a limited period where reasonably necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, enforcement of our Terms or other lawful purposes.

Deleting your account does not necessarily erase information that another person has independently copied, screenshotted or otherwise retained outside our systems.

14. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, misuse, loss, alteration or disclosure.

Depending on the nature of the information and service, safeguards may include:

  • access controls;
  • authentication mechanisms;
  • encryption or secure transmission;
  • monitoring;
  • logging;
  • infrastructure security;
  • internal access restrictions.

However:

No internet service can promise absolute security.

If we become aware of a personal-data breach requiring notification under applicable law, we will take steps required by the applicable legal framework.

15. Data Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.

Retention periods may depend on:

  • the type of information;
  • why we collected it;
  • whether your account remains active;
  • security and fraud-prevention requirements;
  • legal obligations;
  • dispute-resolution requirements.

Different information may therefore have different retention periods.

16. Children's Privacy

AstroDate is intended for adults who meet the applicable minimum age requirement for using a dating service.

We do not knowingly permit children or persons below the applicable minimum age to create dating profiles.

If you believe a person below the applicable minimum age is using AstroDate, please report the account to us.

17. Cookies & Similar Technologies

AstroDate may use cookies, SDKs, pixels, local storage or similar technologies to:

  • keep you signed in;
  • remember preferences;
  • understand Platform usage;
  • improve performance;
  • maintain security;
  • measure communications;
  • provide relevant functionality.

Where required, we will seek applicable permissions or provide appropriate controls.

18. Third-Party Links

AstroDate may contain links to third-party websites or services.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of independent third parties.

Before providing information to another service, review its privacy policy.

19. International Processing

Some AstroDate service providers may process information from locations outside your home state or country.

Where personal information is transferred or processed across jurisdictions, we will take steps required by applicable law.

20. Marketing Communications

We may send service-related communications that are necessary to operate your account.

Where applicable, we may also send promotional communications.

You can manage marketing preferences through available controls or by using the unsubscribe mechanism included in promotional communications.

Important service, security and account communications may still be sent where necessary.

21. Your Profile Is Your Choice

AstroDate gives you controls over what you share.

Use them.

You can decide what information to include in your profile, what you keep private, and which features you use.

We strongly recommend that you do not publicly post:

  • passwords;
  • OTPs;
  • bank details;
  • payment credentials;
  • government identification numbers;
  • highly sensitive personal information;
  • private information belonging to someone else.

22. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Privacy laws evolve.

AstroDate evolves too.

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, technology or legal obligations change.

If a change is material, we may provide notice through the Platform or another appropriate method.

The updated version will state its effective date.

24. A Note From AstroDate

You trusted us with pieces of your story.

Your photographs.

Your preferences.

Your conversations.

Maybe even the exact time and place you were born.

That's not information we take lightly.

AstroDate exists to help people find meaningful connections, not to turn their private lives into a product.

Your data is yours.
Your choices are yours.
Your relationships are yours.

We'll build the technology.

You decide who gets to know you.

AstroDate. For Those Meant to Meet.
